SURFING COMMUNITY RALLIES TO LEARN CPR/AED
Bird's Surf SHED to Offer Free CPR/AED Training In Conjunction With San Diego Project Heartbeat

Recently three surfing icons died from sudden cardiac arrest while enjoying the sports they loved. In response to this, and out of respect for their memories, Bird's Surf SHED is partnering with San Diego Project Heartbeat to offer a free event where anyone who is interested can learn the basic CPR/AED skills that may help save a person's life. The class is being taught by San Diego EMTs, Paramedics, and Lifeguards who are volunteering their time to support this cause.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is responsible for approximately 325,000 deaths in the United States alone (source: Heart Rhythm Foundation). The highest survival rates by far are seen in patients who receive bystander CPR and treatment from an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Bird's Surf SHED is a unique blend of surf shop, museum, and community cenhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifter founded by San Diego surfing legend Bird Huffman. http://birdssurfshed.com
